At the start of the battle, Birdo is still in a giant egg named Shelly. During this phase, Birdo cannot do anything.
The egg can be cracked by doing enough damage to it. Feel free to attack and prepare for her second phase!
When enough damage is done to the giant egg, it will split open and Birdo will come out to battle.
Accessories | Where to Get |
---|---|
・Climb the Left Route in Bean Valley Vines |
Birdo's attacks are all physical, so make sure to use accessories that boost physical defense.
The Defense Scarf, which boosts Defense and Magic Defense by 15 points, can be found on the way to Nimbus Land. It is recommended that you have Peach equip it since she is the most vulnerable in this fight.
Birdo uses two attacks: normal attack (spitting eggs) and summoning Eggberts. Both have identical animations, with the former being Birdo spitting three times.
If Birdo does her normal attack, the block timing will be as soon as Birdo shoots the third egg in a row. If Birdo is summoning an Eggbert, the timing will be as soon as she shoots her first egg.
Eggberts can be deflected by having a member block them. These projectiles, after being deflected to Birdo's side, serve as her companions. Prioritize targeting them first since they will produce an explosion that damages Birdo when defeated.
Party-wide attacks such as Geno Blast can cleanly wipe out the Eggberts, giving you time to focus on Birdo. Explosions from Eggberts alone will not finish off Birdo when she only has a few HP remaining, so use a physical attack to finish her off!
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Geno Boost (Geno) |
・Raises an ally's attack by 50%, and defense by 50% on a successful timed bonus. ・Time your button press right before the arrows disappear to get the timed bonus. |
Birdo has naturally high attack and defense power. To fight her safely, consider using Geno Boost to buff your allies attack! Make sure to time this command also to boost defense.
Proceed with defeating Birdo with normal attacks if it does any more damage than the Eggbert explosions!
Best Special Moves for Each Character
Birdo does not use any special attacks. She depends on being able repeatedly shoot eggs and developing allied Eggberts on her side.
She generally does high damage, so it is best to have recovery items and special moves ready.
Birdo does not have any special attacks. She pure uses physical attacks, particularly spitting eggs and summoning Eggberts!
