In the game, there is the Mushroom Kingdom Inn Kid, a Toad who can be found in the Mushroom Kingdom Inn as soon as you get there in Chapter 1.
Upon entering the Inn, he can always be found exactly furthest to the right of the area, at a corner beside a wooden cabinet.
The Mushroom Kingdom Inn Kid owns a Game Boy that is crucial in giving Mario access to the Beetle Mania minigame.
Mushroom Kingdom Walkthrough, Map, and Hidden Chests
The Mushroom Kingdom Inn Kid will not sell his Game Boy to you until after completing Marrymore later in the story.
Getting and completing the minigame is optional, and there are no in-game rewards for finishing it other than getting a high score. But it can serve as a fun alternative to pass time when you are not doing anything else in the overworld.
You might also want to snag it for the game's 100% completion.
Beetle Mania: How to Unlock and Rewards
The Beetle Mania minigame can be bought from the Mushroom Kingdom Inn Kid after having completed Chapter 4 and returning from Marrymore.
This means having dealt with Booster, and having both Bowser and Princesss Peach in your party at the end of the chapter!
Once Mushroom Kingdom Inn starts selling his Game Boy, it will be priced at 500 Coins.
If you are low on money, consider farming for coins to buy it get access to Beetle Mania!
Beetle Mania is one of the many available minigames that can be played in Super Mario RPG Remake.
After the Mushroom Kingdom Inn Kid sells his Game Boy to you, talking to him again will prompt him to offer to teach you for free on how to play the minigame.
Beetle Mania can be played anywhere for free. To access it, open the menu and choose the Game option to start playing!
