In the "Buff Up on Defense" section, it says that you can use the Magia Charm HH for this quest, but that is not true. It has Defensive Ditty, but it does not have Springy Staccato which is necessary unless you have Armorskin or Mega Armorskin. Khezu HH has both skills and easily accessible for those still in Sheparden. You must get Defense (L) on the person who Shogun is attacking with the red line to complete the quest. Took a couple tries, but I got my Mizutsune egg. Completed at level 37 :)
used almudron's mud armor+ with hunting horn and armorskins, even using two vital essences before searching for a guide. didn't work.
Easier method(if you don't have Mega Armorskin): Armorskin after first turn then use "Springy Staccato" from Anjanath Hum & Khezu Horn to raise the Defense(M) to Defense(L) = Win. Instead of playing the Defense Ditty roulette for a Defense(L)
You need 1 single hit on a character with Defense (L) to win. It says 2 hits with Defense (M) will work but it didn't for me. So either mega armorskin or use sonata to increase the Defense from ditty to (L)
i used a mega armorskin and it worked
this seems incorrect i have used a black gravios and armorskins, he still knocks him out, he still doesnt break his claws and he remains undefeated
