    As long as you battle the last difficulty in Apocalypse mode, you'll have a chance to get a 108 gear or artifact.

    I got mine yesterday. I think you will get it as long as you always play the game. But I wished I got an armor instead of a weapon.

    I got 104 power when I got that scythe. Basically if you reached 97 power level, you can obtain items from 100-108.

    Wow. I can't even get a 105 weapon or armor. My average power now is 105.

    Maybe it's bugged? I also got 108 rare mace when playing. We need mojang to confirm this.
