Marvel Rivals Brings Elsa Bloodstone and Balance Changes for Season 6.5
Elsa Bloodstone, Marvel’s Resident Monster Hunter, is Joining the Fight
Marvel Rivals has officially unveiled Elsa Bloodstone as the newest character to join the game as part of the upcoming Season 6.5 update. The character was revealed alongside all the other new additions coming to the mid-season update in a Dev Vision video, including holiday-themed events and balance changes for certain heroes.
A descendant of the legendary Bloodstone family of monster hunters in the Marvel Universe, Elsa uses her arsenal of guns, traps, and monster summons to dart in and out of battle and catch openings to secure eliminations. She will be joining the game as a Duelist, and will also have a quirky team-up with Deadpool that causes enemies hit by her Living Bullet rounds to suffer temporary impairment from Deadpool’s nonstop chatter.
Marvel Rivals’ Mid-Season Celebrates Love, Lunar Blessings, and Combat

Elsa Bloodstone will be arriving alongside Season 6.5, which will have a couple of new events that will focus on the upcoming holidays. On February 14, the Times Square Map will feature a wedding car parade that celebrates Rogue and Gambit’s love, while later on in the season, Iron Fist will be performing a dance in the middle of Times Square to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Participating in these events will reward players with free Units that can be used to purchase cosmetics in the shop.
There will also be a duo and squad-only tournament running from February 21 to 22: the Monster Kingdom Championship. This tournament series will be hosted by Deadpool and allows duos of up to 2 factions and squads of up to 6 to 8 factions to duke it out on one of the event days for free Units, Unstable Molecules, Nameplates, and other rewards.
Rivals’ Season 6.5 Update Shakes Up the Meta

Significant balance changes will also be implemented during the release of the new Season, alongside the addition of new team-up abilities. Most notably, characters that have struggled in the meta like Adam Warlock and Storm have been buffed significantly with new properties to key abilities, buffs to damage output, and, in Adam Warlock’s case, the addition of an entirely new ability that allows him to fly for a short duration.
Changes to existing team-ups have also been added between characters, while older ones like the Fantastic Four’s team-up have been retired from the game. New team-ups include Psionic Mayhem between Doctor Strange and Invisible Woman, which gives Doctor Strange’s Maelstrom of Madness the ability to draw enemies into him, and Hulk and The Thing’s Gamma Charge, which empowers the latter’s Stone Haymaker and Rocky Jabs with Gamma energy.
Marvel Rivals is out now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For more on Marvel’s multiversal multiplayer hero shooter, read our article here:
