HeroEditionCoverBanner.jpeg

The two DLC packs are included for buyers of the Minecraft Dungeons: Hero Edition. This means that the most effective way to preorder the DLC is to purchase the Hero Edition of the game, which will give you immediate access to all DLC contents on release.

For players who have already bought Minecraft Dungeons: Standard Edition, a Hero Pass is available separately on all platforms to upgrade to the Hero Edition content. This will provide full access to Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter when they become available.

All About the Jungle Awakens DLC

“In this adventure, you’ll enter a distant, dangerous jungle to fight a mysterious power in three new missions. To defeat the terrors hidden among the vines, you’ll have new weapons, armor, and artifacts at your disposal.”

The Jungle Awakens DLC will take players on a new adventure, with a new mysterious power to take down. It's likely that this will be a separate story from the Arch-Illager plot of the main game.

New Enemies and Bosses

A few new enemies have already been announced for Jungle Awakens, including the Leapleaf, Jungle Zombie, and Poison Quill Vine, and more.

Although the enemies haven't been officially identified yet, they appear scattered throughout the artwork released for the game.

Leapleaf

Leapleaf.jpg
It's not confirmed that the pictured enemy on the left is the Leapleaf described, but it seems to be a similar design to the Redstone Golem. It seems to be using some kind of life-absorbing ranged attack on the player to the right.

Poison Quill Vine

Poison Quill Vine.jpg
This threatening-looking plant may be the aforementioned Poison Quill Vine. It's possible that it will use a venus fly trap-esque gambit to snag passing players caught unaware.

Jungle Zombie

This new enemy is pictured on the cover art. It's amazing how the humble Zombie manages to adapt to every possible climate... in its own way.

Mysterious Power

The cover art shows a threatening Ent-like creature closing in on our heroes. This beast seems to be the focal point of the story, and will likely appear as the final boss.

New Mob: Pandas

Adorable pandas are likely to be added as passive mobs with the first DLC. Yeah, we would love to have them as pets instead, too, and hopefully they won't skadoosh you when you try to kill them for consumables.

New Pet: Cheetah?

Cheetah.jpg
It's not clearly visible, but this animal is visible in the top-left corner of the art above, gazing off at something unseen. One of the new Artifacts announced to appear might be the one which summons this Pet to your side.

New Weapons, Armor and Artifacts Available

The new Weapons and Armor seem to be Jungle-themed as well, with one player wearing camo, and another yellow armor, pictured on both the box art and in-game, with black spots akin to a leopard.

I hope that isn't real leopard skin he's wearing...

Corrupted Seeds

One of the confirmed new items is the Corrupted Seeds. Using Corrupted Seeds to an enemy or group of enemies will immobilize and poison them with vines for a moment.

This is a good artifact to use for kiting or simply dealing with a group of mobs using crowd control.

Taking Place in the Island Realms

Island Realms Zoom.png

The base game included an inaccessible on the map screen labeled Island Realms. Labeled “Coming Soon,” it was noted that a new Island Realms map and two brand new adventures will be included there. It's most likely that these two DLC adventures will take place in this area, and we're interested to see how Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter will play out as part of the same area on the map.

Island Realms and More DLC Info

Unlock the Lower Temple

Along with the Jungle Awakens DLC is a new secret dungeon called Lower Temple. This new level is to be added as the secret level unlocked within the Desert Temple and will also be located at the main island.

The Lower Temple will be available to everyone for free (even if you haven't purchased the DLCs) and can be unlocked by simply updating the game when The Jungle Awakens is released on July 1, 2020.

All About the Creeping Winter DLC

As the Creeping Winter DLC will not be released until later in the year, not much is currently known about its contents, but more information is expected to come out soon. Check out the page below to see the newest news and information on the DLC!

How Long are the Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter DLC?

With a total of three missions announced for Jungle Awakens compared to the ten story missions and four secret missions of the main game, it's fair to say that each DLC will be about a quarter of the length of the Standard Edition content.

As the Standard Editions' main story missions each take about thirty minutes to get through, we can estimate a length of about one and a half hours on a simple straightforward playthrough, though it's highly likely that there will be plenty of secret content hidden here as well.

With both DLCs combined coming to a total price of $9.99, the developers should be hoping to provide about half as much content total as was present in the $19.99 base game. Here's hoping for plenty of more surprises to come!
