Obsidian Chest is the rarest type of chest that you can find in Minecraft Dungeons. Read on to learn more about where to farm obsidian chests!
Obisidan Chests are the rarest chests in the game. These chests have the highest chance to contain a unique gear and sometimes even artifacts.
You can easily distinguish these chests as they are the same color as obsidian and are inlaid with diamonds.
Soggy Cave is the best mission to efficiently farm obsidian chests as the mission is really short and has a guaranteed obsidian chest per run. The only things that will try to slow you down are the redstone puzzles. After solving the 2 puzzles, you will now have an access to the room with the obsidian chest!
Soggy Cave Mission Walkthrough & Guide
There is a room in Highblock Halls where there is an obsidian chest in the middle. You will have to roll over the chasm and onto the platform to reach the chest.
The only way out of it is by pressing the button in front of the chest, but there's a catch. After you press the button, you will be ambushed by crossbowmen while the ladders out of the platform appear.
Highblock Halls Mission Walkthrough
This should be a guaranteed obsidian chest but on some occasions, this area is bugged. After unlocking a gate with a golden key golem, you will encounter an intersection with an entrance to another room.
Upon entering the room, you will see a narrow area on the left side of the entrance (right side of your screen). This area is accessible by rolling onto the small platform. Upon landing, walk towards the end of the path (if you didn't land there) and an entrance will be automatically revealed.
Now depending on the orientation, you can enter that secret room for the obsidian chest. If you can "see" the entrance of the room, you can enter it and claim your loot. If the orientation of the room makes the wall block your view of the entrance, then you cannot enter it even if you heard it open, forcing you to restart the game if you don't plan to finish the mission.
Desert Temple Mission Walkthrough & Guide
This is a chance based Obsidian Chest that only appears occasionaly. It is located in a cave that spawns in one of the crypts that has a chance to spawn in Pumpkin Pastures. Inside the cave will be a drawbridge that will go down one you press the red stone switch.
Be ready, to get to the red stone switch you will have to activate another switch that will spawn a group of mobs. Once all the mobs are defeated and the red stone switch is pressed the drawbridge will drop. On the other side of the drawbridge is a room with the Obsidian Chest!
Pumpkin Pastures Mission Walkthrough
You can pick this obsidian chest anytime after you defeat Arch-Illager in Default difficuty. After doing so, launch pads will appear at the southeastern part of the camp. Use them to go to the other side and proceed until you find the nether portal.
If it's your first time finding the nether portal, you will find an emerald chest in front of it, but wait, there's more.
Go to the area behind the nether portal and you will see a tree, which covers a path to the top. You will need to roll halfway through the peak to get to the other side and continue climbing up. Once on top, an obsidian chest will appear.
After beating the game in Default mode and unlocking the Church, the secret rooms containing the runes will now be accessible.
The secret room containing a rune in Obsidian Pinnacle contains an obsidian chest, a gold chest, and sometimes, a wooden chest. Take note that the obsidian chest in this room is available only once. After you open it, the only guaranteed chest in this room on your next visits is the gold chest.
How to Get into the Obsidian Pinnacle Secret Room
After you collect all of the runes, a secret room behind the church will be revealed which contains the map to unlock the Secret Cow Level along with 2 obsidian chests.
