Joins After Heir to the Dragonlands

Gilbert will join the Liberation Army once you complete the quest Heir to the Dragonlands.

To have Gilbert join the Liberation Army, you must choose Agree to Speak with him during the choice prompt of the initial cutscene of the mission.

Have Aramis Talk to Gilbert

At the beginning of the quest, Virginia will talk to Alain about Aramis' true identity, and present him with a choice to let Aramis talk to Gilbert.

You must choose Agree to speak with him in order to trigger a cutscene between Aramis and Gilbert, where he will also make up his mind to join the Liberation Army.

1	Offensive Order ┗ First Action	Offensive Order is Gilbert's best opening active skill, to amplify his allies' damage. Set Offensive Order to First Action.
2	Defensive Order ┗ Second Action	Defensive Order can be used afterwards, to increase the defense of Gilbert's allies by +20%. Set Defensive Order to Second Action
3	Banishing Stab ┗ Lowest HP	If Gilbert has remaining AP, you can set Banishing Stab to Lowest HP, to help finish off low-health enemies.
4	Rapid Order	Rapid Order can be set to blank, as Rapid Order activates automatically at the start of battle.
5	Guard Order ┗ Row is Attacked	Guard Order is best used when Gilbert's row (usually the back row) is attacked. Set to Row is Attacked to reduce the damage the back row receives.
6	Sniping Order ┗ Scout Enemies Present	Sniping Order allows Gilbert's unit to have True Strike for one attack. Set to Scout Enemies Present to deal with evasive enemy Scouts.
7	Sniping Order ┗ Flying Enemies Present	Similar to the previous tactic, setting Sniping Order to Flying Enemies Present allows Gilbert's unit to take down Flying enemies.
