Unicorn Overlord boasts plenty of unique and playable characters that you can recruit to join Alain and his Liberation Army. They come with pre-determined classes and boast skills that are useful in battles.

Although all of them can be recruited in a single playthrough, you have the option to have them in your army or not recruit them at all in exchange for resources like War Funds.

As confirmed by Vanillaware, you can recruit over 60 unique and playable characters in Unicorn Overlord.

You can get them by completing certain quests in the game!

How to Recruit Characters

Complete Quests to Recruit Companions

While certain characters automatically join your party after progressing the story, some characters require you to complete quests before they join you.

Quests to recruit Companions vary in difficulty, ranging from simply collecting certain items, to defeating enemies to get characters to join you!

Hire Mercenaries

You can also recruit Characters from Forts. Each Fort has a variety of recruitable mercenaries, and you are free to customize them before adding them to your party.

Currently, each fort features fixed Classes for Recruitable Mercenaries, and you can only recruit up to 64 Units.
