Peni Parker Joins Marvel Tokon’s Amazing Guardians Team
Peni Parker was revealed as the latest playable character for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls at the Arc World Tour Finals this weekend. Peni, Earth-14512’s anime-style Spider-Man who fights using her SP//DR mech suit, is set to join the "Amazing Guardians," a team composed of younger superheroes like Star-Lord and Ms. Marvel and led by Spider-Man.
While details about her character archetype have yet to be revealed, judging from the character’s reveal trailer, Peni plays as a methodical, big-bodied character that uses SP//DR’s long limbs, bombs, and weapons to control the stage. The trailer also shows a new stage, "Knowhere," an intergalactic space station and the Guardians of the Galaxy’s base of operations.

The trailer also shows the remaining few character slots open for the game’s roster, all of which will cover teams led by Captain America, Doctor Doom, and Ghost Rider. Fans have speculated that Iron Man will join Captain America in an Avengers team, while Doctor Doom could potentially lead a Marvel Villains team and Ghost Rider could lead a Midnight Sons-centered team.
Marvel Tokon’s Playable Demo Highlights System and Character Changes

Marvel Tokon was given a significant spotlight at the Arc World Tour Finals through its playable demo, which allowed players to experience the game’s latest build. The latest version of Marvel Tokon highlighted the new system changes that Arc System Works announced a while ago, as well as the playstyles of the three new X-Men characters.
Some of these system changes include a dedicated Tag button for assists, allowing players to call unique character-specific assist moves, and changes to combos. The new characters, Wolverine, Magik, and Danger, meanwhile, all have unique playstyles and have had their full move sets revealed during the event.
Wolverine is an aggressive rushdown fighter with an emphasis on his Unique "Berserker" attacks, building up a "Berserker Rage" install mechanic. Magik, meanwhile, excels at fighting in any range through her Unique "Dark Portals" which let her teleport across the screen and unlock new move properties. Danger is a zoner whose Unique "Calibrate" beam fires a projectile that changes how her moves function.
Marvel Tokon Gets an Automatic Team Name Generator

Alongside this, Marvel Tokon will be receiving a neat feature for custom teams: Automatic Team Name Generation, which creates names for hero teams based on specific bits of Marvel lore and history between each character. These custom names will be displayed on screen and announced by the in-game announcer before matches.
Marvel Tokon has also revealed a new, non-playable story character: The Promoter, an incredibly obscure character from the comics who appears as a mysterious, cosmic force who invites the heroes to an intergalactic tournament that determines the fate of Earth. The Promoter, who’s real name is Xirena Awhina and is one of the Elders of the Universe, will play a major role in Marvel Tokon’s story and is possibly connected to greater antagonistic forces.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is releasing on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation and Steam. For more on the upcoming Marvel tag team fighter, check out our article below!
