Best Units

Chain Attack Unit

A straightforward unit that relies on chain attacks from Knights and Warriors to finish fights as fast as possible. The majority of damage comes from Clive with an Assault Lance. This weapon allows Clive to chain attacks with the rest of the unit. Make sure you swap to The Unwavering Lance against high-evasion enemy units.

Having a Warrior such as Mordron or Kitra in the unit keeps the chain attacks going. These fighters also deal decent damage through shielded units such as Hoplites.

Lastly, Sharon or any Cleric is a good piece for the unit for healing and debuff cleanses. Set Active Heal on your Cavalry (Clive in this case) so she can always top his AP off to let him do his thing. We also recommend equipping Lyrical Wand for a much-needed boost in total AP.

Gryphon Knight Unit

A unit that maximizes a Gryphon Knight's AoE damage. Have Fran or any Gryphon Knight positioned at the rear to reduce his aggro as much as possible.

Yahna or any Witch can buff your Gryphon Knight with Magic Conferral, allowing them to deal magic damage whenever they cast High Swing. Witches also deal decent solo-target DPS.

Place fighters such as Lex or Colm to the frontline to boost the unit's defenses through their high evasion. This class also comes with Arrow Cover and Guarding Fighter to shield your Gryphon Knight against Archers and other physical range classes.

The unit's healing mostly come from the Gryphon Knight's Wing Rest and Fighter's First Aid Kit, allowing the squad to be self-sustainable to a degree.

Magic Counter and Assist Unit

Taken off every RPG staple's playbook, this unit boasts your typical cast of tanks, healers, and wizards. Auch or any Wizard serves as the unit's main DPS, nuking enemy units with high damage Fireballs and Magic Counters. With Auch as the unit leader, his squad can provide Magic Assist to other units as they enter combat.

We recommend using either a Chiropteran Staff or Chlorotic on your Wizard. The former is useful if you want more initiative on your Wizard during a fight, while the latter grants more DPS by adding another roll of the Fire Burst passive on your Wizard.

Josef or any Paladin can sit at the frontline, providing much-needed tanking and healing for the rest of the party while also dishing decent damage out if needed.

Sustainability is further improved with Sharon or any Cleric position in the rear. On top of heals, Clerics also cleanse debuffs for the unit. This means your Paladin or Wizard can do their jobs effectively even against enemy units that have high stuns and crowd control.

Make sure your Cleric has Lyrical Wand equipped to increase their total AP in fights.
