Josef is part of the initial playable characters, and will be playable shortly after the Prologue mission.

You will first gain control of Josef during the Unicorn Ring Mission as a Paladin and will be part of Alain's army from then.

1	Heal ┗ 1 or Fewer Enemies ┗ Target HP is less than 50%	Setting the following conditions for Josef's Heal skill allows him to prioritize attacks, and only use his Heal skill when it is extremely necessary.
2	Slice ┗ Lowest % HP	Setting Slice to prioritize Low HP targets allows Josef to gain additional PP reliably by defeating enemies.
1	Pursuit	Do not set any conditions for Pursuit to allow Josef to use Follow-up attacks whenever possible.
2	Holy Guard ┗ Attacked by Archer	Archers during later missions will use Flame Arrows. Having Josef use Holy Guard against Archer enemies only optimizes your PP usage, and increases Josef's survivability.
3	Holy Barrier ┗ Back Row	Setting Holy Barrier to prioritize your unit's Back Row allows Josef to provide substantial Defense for your unit backline, where your damage and support units are placed.
