As a game that prides itself for its parody of other games and real life, the 2022 reboot of Saints Row (Saints Row 5) is filled with great Easter Eggs and References scattered all across Santo Ileso. Read on to find out what these references are, and where you can see them yourself!

Towards the end of the Mission The Dustmoot, players will be asked to check on several chests scattered around the central area of Fort Tapeworm. These boxes will have signs written and posted above each of them that makes clever references and pokes fun at other games or game-industry practices.
Among these are chests labelled as "Mimics", which is a reference to the Dark Souls franchise – another chest has a sign requiring the payment of "$2.99" to open – a reference to the gaming industry's practice of lootboxes, and the last chest that can be found has a sign labelled as "Bottle Caps", a reference to the long-running Fallout franchise.

This reference involves a large number of missions – nearly a majority of Eli's Missions – which involve LARP, or "Live-Action Role-Playing", which is a real-world activity that people can engage in where they role-play characters of their own creation that works towards the fulfillment of a story or fantasy.
In the case of the LARP in Saints Row, the reference could be any number of things – Dune, Game of Thrones, or any other high-fantasy story could be references that players can attribute to the entire LARP affair in-game.

Not far from The Church – and near the very first collectible that you can get during the Mission Office Decor – you can find a small brick overlay over the inner wall of one of the towers. Break it to see a group of figurines – a reference to Minecraft.
This reference is partly due to two things: first being the look of the figurines themselves, which takes on the iconic blocky look of in-game characters, and the other being the "bricks" that you can break, similar to the blocks that you can disintegrate for resources in the game.

Tucked away in the deep, southwestern portion of the map in Kavanagh County is a reference for Xenoblade fans. There, off to the side of a low-peaking mountain will players be able to find a pillar resembling the Zohar – a portal of sorts that bridges the gap between the Upper Domain of U-DO and the Lower Domain of Unus Mundus.

A reference or easter egg about the real-world game of Jenga, players can find this tower in Badlands South. Here, you are given the opportunity of playing an actual game of Jenga if you wish – simply shoot out the tiles you wish to remove without completely collapsing the tower.

A giant comb that's literally labelled as "Comb", this monstrosity is a reference to the Spaceballs film, which in itself is a parody of the space-opera Star Wars.

On the single, solitary island lying in the middle of the large lake of the map is a reference to the movie I.T.. On the island, you'll need to head down to the side where you can find a sewer exit blocked by a large gate. Just past this gate is a single red balloon, which I.T.'s villain Pennywise is particularly fond of using to lure children in to his deathly traps.

A reference specifically for the MCU's 2011 Thor film, you can find Thor's weapon, Mjolnir, along the roads in Badlands South to the west. This also serves as a collectible – reading its description in the collectibles page further reveals that only a "Chris" could wield it, a reference to Thor's actor in the MCU Chris Hemsworth.

A somewhat unknown (by today's standards) 1974 comedy, you can find this Blazing Saddles reference in Badlands North, right on the western border of the map. You'll find a campfire here with several dolls arranged around it – these dolls will suspiciously be farting, mimicing a scene in the movie.

From the decals all the way up to the car type, you can find this vehicle in an open parking lot somewhere in Mercado. This is a direct reference to the car used by Paul Walker's character in one of the earlier Fast & Furious movies, and can spawn somewhat randomly. If it doesn't appear when you get to the lot, just move out of the district and return to see if it spawns.

Called as the Turdis in-game, you can find this collectible in Old Town West's northeastern portion. A reference to the classic Doctor Who television series, as a collectible, you can use this old British Phonebooth as a decorative piece to The Church.

This easter egg is hard to classify as being a direct reference to the movie Three Amigos, although the context clues in the areas do add up. In a similar scene to the 1986 film, the area for this easter egg contains both a bush where you can hear singing as well as three mannequins standing off to the side.
Adding these up, and it can be argued that this is indeed a reference to one of the scenes in the film – if not, it's a fun easter egg featuring a talking bush.
From the Three Amigos site, turn right and head up the path until you reach a sewer grate. You'll find that the surrounding area of the grate is covered in green paint, with a drawing of four turtles to the side. This is a reference to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which famously make use of sewers as their somewhat permanent home/mode of transport.
The setting of Saints Row is a dead giveaway that the entire map is, in actuality, a reference to Las Vegas – and to a lesser extent a reference to the state of Nevada. The entire district of El Dorado mimics the lavish areas of Las Vegas' "Strip", filled with equally lavish casinos and hotels.

In Rojas Desert North, you can find this underground UFO beneath a shack off to the side of the Twin Coyote Arcade that you can find nearby. This is separate from the Collectible UFO that you can find out in the desert.

Found in Badlands South, it is unknown just what this Monolith is a reference to, if any at all. This mysterious monolith features floating rocks around it, along with a riddle on its backside.
As of now, there is no solution to the riddle that can provide an answer to the monolith's purpose, and the monolith itself could just be simply a reference to the real-world Utah Monolith which rocked the news around late 2020.

The monolith is not unknown origin, it says “MEGATRON” on it, which I guess is a reference to the Transformers :)
