Castle Kraken Challenge: How to Complete and Rewards

This is a guide for Castle Kraken, a challenge in 2022 reboot of Saints Row (Saints Row 5). Read on to learn what the objectives of the challenge are, tips on how to complete the challenge, and the rewards you get for completing the challenge.

How to Complete Castle Kraken Objectives

Finish the Dustmoot Quest

Access the Outfit

The first instance of donning the lovingly made Dustlander Outfit is during The Dustmoot. Completing the quest unlocks the Castle Kraken venture and in turn sets you on the path to attain the Dustlander Outfit.

Progress Through the Venture

You'll need to complete the Venture Missions in order to access the Dustlander Outfit and Dustlander Sword, which will luckily help with completing the rest of this challenge.

Choose Your Gun

Use the Shotgun

In progressing through the Castle Kraken ventures, you will only be given a specific set of weapons to use. The best of these is the Dustlander Shotgun which, in close range, can down an enemy quickly.

Pistols Are A Good Choice

You can alternatively use the Pistol, but the amount of damage you lose is significant and it will take more shots to take Dustlanders down. When you're swarmed, keep some distance from enemies that might engage in melee by using the environment to disrupt the AI pathing and aim for Headshots for some decent damage!

Attack Small Groups with the Dustlander Sword

Receive the Sword

In completing Unto the Breach, you'll be rewarded with the Dustlander Sword. This sword, like the other Dustlander weapons, does not deal damage but knocks enemies out of battle all the same.

Focus on Small Groups

This is best used on smaller groups to finish the challenge quickly. You can attack small groups of other gangs and factions on the street, going for a smaller number of enemies instead of swarms such as during threats or other events.

Enjoy LARP Takedowns

As a plus, whenever you execute a takedown while holding the sword, you can enjoy a LARP-style takedown!

Learn to Fight Without Skills

If you're the kind of player to utilize skills often, you'll find that you will not be able to use your skills during the Castle Kraken missions. Instead, utilize your dodges and time them right to take enemies down and avoid their line of fire!

16	Berserker	While active, your melee attacks do more damage.

But once you're out of the Castle Kraken missions and have attained the Dustlander Sword, you will benefit from utilizing the Berserker skill, which allows your melee attacks to pack a punch!
