The Dust King, also known as Carl, is the leader of House Dust Storm, one of the largest factions in Santo Ileso's citywide Dustmoot LARP. He currently defends his position as holder of the Dust Crown, the most sought-after artifact in the Dustmoot.

The Dust King is the leader of House Dust Storm, one of the largest and most powerful factions in Santo Ileso's citywide LARP - The Dustmoot. Always in character, the Dust King takes on a haughty demeanor and an exaggerated manner of speaking when interacting with fellow LARPers.

Currently, the Dust King holds the Dust Crown, the most sought-after artifact in the Dustmoot. Whoever defeats him will receive the Dust Crown and win the Dustmoot for the year, which is why he rigorously defends his position inside Fort Thunderpump.

Story Role

One of the Saints' Rivals In the Dustmoot

The Dust King first appears during the Castle Kraken Criminal Venture as one of the rival Houses whose beacons the Boss lights.

After the Boss torches House Dust Storm's beacon and defends themselves from their assault, the Dust King decides to call them. He tries to make them swear loyalty to his throne, but the Boss refuses, asserting that they'll be the next to take the Crown. Amused by their response, the Dust King taunts the Boss and tells them to do their worst.

Defeat at Fort Thunderpump

Later in the story, the Saints would defeat House Dust Storm and another rival faction, House Phoenix, at a massive battle inside Fort Thunderpump.

Armed with the Bowelrod, the Saints tore their way through the castle's gates and shot down every guard in their path. They then defeated House Phoenix's leader, Gwendolyn Firebird, before heading to the fort's throne room.

Inside the throne room, the Dust King pleaded for his life but ultimately died at the hands of the Boss, making them the winner of the year's Dustmoot and the new Dust King.
