Ventures are businesses you can setup and receive passive income. The income you get will depend on which Ventures you build but the more Ventures you have, the more money you can get.
JimRob's is the earliest Venture available in the game which unlocks after completing A Piece of the Action. The 2nd Venture will be chosen by the player among Bright Future, Chalupacabra, and Shady Oaks and will be available after completing the Networking main mission.
Early in the game, having your first three ventures is s good source of passive income. But, as you progress through the story, you'll unlock another set of ventures that are worth $ 100,000 each.
Purchasing these will skyrocket your passive income, making it the most cost efficient way to farm money. All you need to do is leave the game running for some time and reap the benefits!

Dumpster Diving can be done by going to golden dumpsters around the map. Icons for these dumpsters will appear on your mini-map by discovering new areas.
Dumpster Diving will more than likely give out $2000. Other than money, players can receive cosmetic items that you can equip.
Should dumpsters be completed in a certain area, killing opponents in Main Missions is also a great way to farm money. There will be a lot of enemies to kill and the cash they drop amounts to a good sum, in addition to the cash reward for actually finishing a Mission.
Story Walkthrough: List of All Main Missions
Side Hustles are various activities you can do to earn money as well. These activities net you $4000 and XP a pop, making them great for farming money early on.
Wing Saboteur and Pony Express are the first Side Hustles available to you and can be unlocked as early as clearing the 3rd main mission, Making Rent.
Wanted Targets are bounties set up across the map that reward $5000 and XP upon completion.
As with Side Hustles, Wanted Targets are unlocked after clearing the 3rd main mission, Making Rent.
