How to Unlock Crossed Paths

Part 1 Unlocked by Finishing Characters' Chapter 2

Characters in the game share a Crossed Path, which can be unlocked after finishing the involved characters' Chapter 2. For example, the first part of Throne and Temenos' Crossed Path becomes available if players complete both of the character's Chapter 2.

After this, players can go to the location indicated in the map with both characters in your active party to activate their Crossed Path.

Part 2 Unlocked by Finishing Characters' Final Chapters

Each Crossed Path has 2 parts and the only way to unlock Part 2 of each Crossed Path is to finish the final chapters of the involved characters of a specific Crossed Path. For example, the final part of Hikari and Agnea's Crossed Path becomes available if players complete both of the character's final chapters.

There have been reports of needing to finish non-involved characters' stories to unlock Part 2 of some Crossed Paths. For example, some needed to complete Ochette's route to unlock The Scholar and Merchant Part 2, but based on our testing, her path didn't need to be completed.

What are Crossed Paths?

Crossed Paths is a new gameplay mechanic introduced within Octopath Traveler 2. In this new mechanic, two travelers' tales intertwine, allowing the two travelers to form a mutual understanding and team up with one another to achieve a common goal.
