The Merchant secondary job and class in Octopath Traveler 2 (Octopath 2) can be obtained by getting the Merchant License from the Merchant Guild in Western Crackridge Wild, Wildlands. | 1 | Move to Cropdale in the Leaflands region. |
| 2 | Go right and move to the Eastern Cropdale Trail. |
| 3 | Go to the top right and move to Crackridge Harbor: Anchorage. |
| 4 | Head up and move to Southern Crackridge Wilds. |
| 5 | Go right to reach Western Crackridge Wilds. |
| 6 | Follow the Guild Mark on your map and talk to the Merchant Guild Master upon reaching the guild to get the Merchant License. |

How to Get Merchant Legendary Arms
Get Fire Dragon's Glaive at the Decaying Temple

The Fire Dragon's Glaive can be obtained by opening a chest inside a Secret Room at the Decaying Temple in Hinoeuma. To get inside the temple, remove all of your party members except one by going to a Tavern. Once alone, head to the temple and make your way to the save point.
There's a set of stairs you can take to the left leading up. Head to the upper right corner of the area and interact with the scroll to reveal the hidden room.
Open the chest inside to get the Fire Dragon's Glaive.

Can Employ Powerful Mercenaries
Merchants can use their Path Action "Hire" to employ individuals that you can summon to combat. If you have money to spare, hire individuals that could be a powerful asset to your current party.
Can Give Out BP to Other Party Members
The Merchant Job can give out their BP to other party members using the skill "Donate BP". This skill is essential when knowing that your other party members can decisively finish the battle in their respective turn. It can also guarantee a powerful attack when given to an ally who excels as a physical attacker.
Overall Skills Are Very Useful and Some Are Suitable for Farming JP
The overall skills used by the Merchant Job can be advantageous when used in the right situation. For earning JP, "Arrow of Fortune" is the skill to acquire. The support skill "Full Power" is great to have for unleashing high-damage attacks at the very start of battle.
Best Job to Farm Money
The Merchant Job has many skills that revolve around earning and spending money. Hired Help is a skill that helps you employ warrios to fight in your stead, with the right amount of money. If you want to earn money with a powerful attack, the Bifelgan's Bounty is the top skill choice to consider.
The Job Skill Collect and Support Skill Grows on Trees can also help you earn quite a bit of dough.
