For this boss fight, you'll be using all eight characters. So before initiating, make sure that all of your characters are optimized. Make sure they are all equipped with the best items, the best secondary jobs, they have all their skills, and that their levels are high enough for the fight.
Another thing to consider is how you'll be splitting your team. The first part of the fight will utilize your actual chosen party. But later on, they will be absorbed by Vide and your four reserve characters will have to fight in their place. Planning a good team composition for your main party and reserve is crucial. Make sure each half is powerful enough to stand on their own and have any needed roles filled, such as healer, damage-dealer, and so on.
Vide's first form can have up to 4 tentacles that can attack your party, and they have some similarities when it comes to weaknesses. Utilize multi-target attacks that can decrease shield value and even break multiple enemies in the same turn. Skills like the Merchant's Hired Help specifically the Veteran Soldier option, various skills Hikari can learn, and even Soulstones.
This boss fight is a long one, so you'll need some serious protection skills to make sure your characters can survive long enough. The Arcanist secondary job can be a real lifesaver in this fight if assigned to Partitio or Agnea. Partitio has the skill Side Step that allows him to dodge physical attacks. Combine that with the Arcanist's Seal of Diffusion, and you'll have your entire team avoiding physical attacks for several turns. For Agnea on the other hand, you can use her latent power to apply Reflection Barrier on your entire team to avoid elemental attacks instead.
For the second half of the boss fight, you'll have all of your characters on the battlefield. Only four characters can still do an action in a single turn, but you'll be able to swap between teams depending on which character you'd like to activate. On the other hand, Vide can only attack the team that was last active. So always pay attention to the turn order. If Vide's turn is coming up, make sure the last team you activate is the one that can still survive an attack from him.
This tip also applies to skills that increase character actions in a turn. As an example, if you have the Cleric's Aelfric's Blessing applied to a character, which makes them take a second action at the end of a turn, make sure the last character you activate is of the team with the affected character. If you were unable to do this, the turn order skips the affected character's second action entirely.
Vide's second form includes his left and right arm as units
that you'll need to defeat. These two arms have different weaknesses, and Vide is immune to all attacks while the two arms are still active. So multi-target skills become less helpful in this section of the fight. Having a Scholar Analyze each arms can help you break and defeat them a lot faster.

Why would the boss guide recommend analyzing the arms when the boss guide already listed its weaknesses?!?!?
