Caits and Octopuff Travelers can be easily defeated with Soulstones. Soulstones deal magical damage, which means that they can hit all enemies without fail. They also deal high damage so you don't have to worry about the enemies' shield points.

Utilize Break and Boost

Octopath Traveler 2 - Break
Break their shield by exploiting their weaknesses. While they are in a break state, the enemy will be stunned, has lowered defense, and cannot move for one turn. Take this opportunity to unleash your strong attacks against them!

Maximize damage while enemies are in this state by also using Boost to enhance your attacks, spells, and skills.
