Once you finish the quest Partitio's Scent of Commerce, you'll be rewarded with the Mercantile Manuscript Archive Key which lets you access the archives to read the Mercantile Manuscript. This will let you read about information about items, equipment and more.

How to Complete Partitio's Scent of Commerce

1	Fast Travel to Sai in Hinoeuma Region. You'll need to recruit Partitio and have him in your party to initiate the quest.
2	Go towards the house atop of the hill and a cutscene should play.
3	Masoud will then ask you to bring him his treasure. The treasure is Masoud's Daughter which is located within Sai, near the center of the town.
4	Change the time to Night time to use Partitio's Path Action to hire Masoud's Daughter for 1,000 Leaves.
5	Talk to Masoud again and he will reveal that he himself is the true treasure. Hire Masoud for 5,000 Leaves.
6	After hiring him, a cutscene will play and the Scent of Commerce will end. Afterwards, you will receive the Mercantile Manuscript Archive Key which lets you access the archives.
