Is There Romance in Octopath Traveler 2?

No Romance Mechanic in the Game

There are no romantic options available within Octopath Traveler 2. However, there is a new mechanic called Crossed Paths that allows a character to interact with another traveler.

While nothing is confirmed, there is a possibility that romance might bloom between two characters during the events of their Crossed Paths.

Unlocked by Finishing Certain Character Chapters

Octopath Traveler 2 - Cleric and Thief Crossed Paths
Some of the characters in the game can share a Crossed Path, which can be unlocked after finishing specific character chapters. For example, Throne and Temenos' Crossed Paths becomes available if players complete Throne's Chapter 2 and Temenos' Chapter 2.

After this, players can go to the location indicated in the map with both characters in your active party to activate their Crossed Path.
