Chapter Summary and Introduction

In search of allies to help him retake the city of Ku, Hikari finds himself in the town of Montwise where Kazan, a former advisor and strategist of Ku, currently resides. But before Hikari can recruit his old friend, Kazan asks for a favor that makes his intentions unclear and his loyalty questionable.

Montwise

	Objectives
1	Find Kazan Head east and down the spiral stairs under the bridge. Enter the entrance to the Underground Arena.

Montwise: Underground Arena

	Objectives
1	Challenge and Defeat the Gladiator Use Path Action Challenge to initate a battle against the gladiator. Defeat him to progress further.
2	Challenge and Defeat the Group of Gladiators After reentering the arena, head the left to find the reception desk. Talk to the receptionist to continue to your next battle. Use Path Action Challenge to initate a battle against the group of gladiators. Defeat them to progress further. Take note that if you have the leaves to spare, you can rest at the inn in between battles to replenish your HP and SP.
3	Challenge and Defeat Zeto the Butcher Talk to the receptionist once again to continue to the third battle. Use Path Action Challenge to initate a battle against Zeto the Butcher. Defeat him to progress further.
4	Challenge and Defeat Bandelam the Reaper Reenter the arena and talk to the receptionist once again to continue to the next battle. Use Path Action Challenge to initate a battle against Bandelam the Reaper. Defeat him to progress further.
5	Defeat Bandelam the Reaper for a Second Time After defeating Banelam the Reaper the first time, he will be impressed and will then show his true power. The next fight with him becomes this chapter's boss battle. Defeat him to move forward. How to Beat Bandelam the Reaper

Bring a Party with a Diverse Set of Weapons and Elemental Attacks

The gimmick of this particular boss is that his weaknesses that are in effect changes and his shield value increases every time you break him. He also has the ability to stun multiple characters. This means he is a lot harder to break. Having a diverse set of weapon types and elemental attacks across your party should still allow you to bring down his shield every turn.

Utilize Skills that Decrease Shield Value

With a constantly shifting set of weaknesses, having attacks that Bandelam is weak to might not be enough to take him down. Some characters have abilities that decrease a target's shield point regardless of the weapon or element used. A good example would be Hikari's Vengful Blade which triggers a counterattack that also decreases the enemy's shield value every time Hikari is targeted.

Bring Heals

As always, with most boss battles, bringing healing items cannot be overstated. Bandelam has attacks that deals damage to multiple targets, so something like the Healing Grape Bunch will be very useful.
