Demo Available on Multiple Platforms As of February 8th

A demo for Octopath Traveler 2 was announced during the February 8th Nintendo Direct. The demo is now available for the Switch, PS4, PS5 and Steam on PC. It has also been confirmed that save data will be transferrable to the full game upon release!

Demo Time Limit, Length, and Coverage

The First 3 Hours of the Game

The demo allows players to play through the first 3 hours of the game. You'll be able to explore the game's mechanics such as Path Actions, and its combat system.

Only Chapter 1 Can be Played

In addition to having a 3-hour time limit per character, the demo also doesn't allow players to progress pass Chapter 1. This means some locations will be inaccessible.

At the start of the game, you'll choose a character you'd like to play as for the 3-hour demo. During the demo, you'll learn about the character's backstory, and you can test their Path Actions and Latent Powers in combat. Once the time is up, you'll have to stop playing, but you can restart the demo with a different character.

However, there's only one save slot, so you'll have to overwrite your last save data in order to restart. Doing this will allow players to try every character available.

On the Octopath Traveler 2 page for the Nintendo eShop, the demo can be found just below the Pre-order button.

PlayStation

In the PS Store, search for 'Octopath Traveler 2 Demo' and you'll find the separate Prologue Demo page. Here you can download the demo.

PC (Steam)

On Steam, search for the Octopath Traveler 2's page. There you'll find a section that will allow you to download the demo.
