Bring a Party with a Diverse Set of Weapons and Elemental Attacks
The gimmick of this particular boss is that his weaknesses change and his shield value increases every time you break him. He also has the ability to stun multiple characters. This means he is a lot harder to break. Having a diverse set of weapon types and elemental attacks across your party should still allow you to bring down his shield every turn.
Utilize Skills that Decrease Shield Value
With a constantly shifting set of weaknesses, having attacks that Bandelam is weak to might not be enough to take him down. Some characters have abilities that decrease a target's shield point regardless of the weapon or element used. A good example would be Hikari's Vengful Blade which triggers a counterattack that also decreases the enemy's shield value every time Hikari is targeted.
Bring Heals Beforehand
As always, with most boss battles, bringing healing items cannot be overstated. Bandelam has attacks that deals damage to multiple targets, so something like the Healing Grape Bunch will be very useful.
