The Mangrove Button can be used to activate redstone components. It emits a redstone signal strength of 15, which lasts for 15 redstone ticks (1.5 seconds). Like all wooden buttons, it can also be triggered by hitting it with an arrow from a Bow or Crossbow or with a Trident.
Buttons are one of the easiest ways to mob proof an area without using lights since they are inexpensive to craft and do not obstruct the player's movement.
This is ideal in the Nether where many hostile mobs can spawn even at higher light levels. It's also great to use in builds that benefit from a darker tone and atmosphere.
