Using special items in Metal Gear Solid Delta (MGS3 Remake) will disqualify you from getting certain titles. See a list of special items and which are not considered special items.

EZ Gun, Infinity Face Paint, and Stealth Camo are Special Items

Special items are items that, if used, will disqualify you from earning certain titles, such as FOXHOUND, FOX, DOBERMAN, and HOUND. The EZ Gun, Infinity face paint, and Stealth camouflage are considered Special Items.

How to Unlock All Titles and Ranks

When you try to equip a special item, the game will notify you that doing so will prevent you from getting certain titles; a failsafe to ensure you don't accidentally use these items while you're aiming for a title run.

Additionally, you can see which items will lock you out below their description in your Backpack menu.

Patriot, SAA, and AT-Camouflage are Not Special Items

However, do note that not all unlockables are special items. Players looking to get high ranks like FOXHOUND can safely equip items like the AT-Camouflage after they've unlocked it.
