Whenever you're near The End, no matter how you move (whether walking, crouching, or prone), you must be in stalk mode to avoid detection, or else he'll hear and shoot you.
Tip: Once you've successfully snuck up behind The End, be sure to hold him up before you defeat him to get the Moss camo and unlock the You Snooze, You Lose trophy.

How to Get: Purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition. Effect: Eliminates the sound of footsteps and boosts the natural LIFE recovery rate. |
If you own the DLC, you can equip the Sneaking Suit (Peace Walker ver.) to automatically silence your footsteps. This makes it significantly easier and more effective to approach The End from behind, as you won't need to rely on Stalk stance anymore.

![]() Tip: The End's position is given away by the glint of his sniper scope. Make sure you're behind cover if you see it glinting in the distance. |
At the start of the boss fight in Sokrovenno South, The End will typically spawn on one of the two overlooking ledges to the north that has a clear view of the main path. For example, he may spawn on the east cliff on Normal difficulty and on the west cliff on Extreme.

You can check which cliff The End first spawns in by spotting the glint of his sniper scope. You can also try spotting his heat signature using your Thermal Goggles or try listening for his breathing with the Directional Mic.

Head up to Sokrovenno North by taking the small eastern path (marked in red on the map above). This low-level ground route provides great cover at the start of the boss fight.
To increase your stealth, be sure to equip a camo with a high index for the area and stick to the tall grass and pass beneath the cliffs to break line-of-sight.

Once at Sokrovenno North, loop back south by taking the elevated paths (marked in cyan on the map above) that run along the eastern or western edges of the map. This route will lead you to the cliffs in Sokrovenno South, allowing you to easily sneak up on The End at the start of the fight.
