How to Non-Lethal The Boss
Counter Her First CQC Attack
The Boss's fight opens with her charging Snake immediately. Unequip your current weapon (to avoid getting disarmed) then counter the boss with a well-timed parry. If you successfully pull off the counter, quickly start putting distance between yourself and The Boss.
Note: If you're looking to get FOXHOUND rank, then a reset is mandatory if you fail to counter the boss. Reload from the last autosave as often as you need to get the timing down since you'll usually get a 2nd CQC round later in the fight.
How to Counter The Boss's CQC Attacks
Equip a Uniform and Face Paint Combo with a High Camo Index
After putting distance between yourself and The Boss, immediately swap to a camo and face paint combo that hides you in the field of white flowers. For camos, you can go with the Snow camo. On NG+, you can even boost its camo index using the AT-Camouflage.
For face paints, you'll have a few of options. You can go with either Snow, Oyama, or Kabuki depending on what you have available. Of the three, Snow looks the least ridiculous during the unskippable cutscene at the end of the fight.
Stick to the Edges of the Arena and Go for Mosin Nagant Headshots
The quickest and easiest way to deal with the boss non-lethally is to make use of the Mosin Nagant. Crouch walk and stick to the edges of the arena. Wait for The Boss to lose sight of you then nail her with a headshot as soon as she takes cover behind one of the trees.
Rinse and repeat this throughout the fight to slowly whittle away at her Stamina bar. If you manage to consistently lose aggro, you can finish the entire fight without getting a 2nd CQC sequence.
Mirror The Boss's Movement in the Arena
Remember, never get too close to The Boss. The key here is to mirror her movement while she tries to find you. If you get spotted while being too close to her, she will charge you, prompting another CQC counter sequence.
If you mess up and do get a 2nd CQC sequence make sure to swap out of the Mosin Nagant. Otherwise, she may disassemble the weapon if you fail to counter her, locking you out of its weapon strat for the remainder of the fight.
Phase 2 Changes The Boss's CQC Attack
Once you have The Boss down to half her stamina, her CQC attack changes. This time, you'll need to counter her twice per CQC sequence if you want to deal stamina damage. If you manage to pull it off, she takes a lot of stamina damage.
