If you haven't played MGS3 before, it is best to pick the New Style. This is because it provides a smoother, more user-friendly gameplay experience with a freely movable, over-the-shoulder camera and modern controls.
This style avoids the handicap of the original game's limited view and complicated controls, and uses the polished Unreal Engine 5 lighting and color which visually differs from the Legacy Style's filter.

If you're an MGS3 veteran and are used to the original controls and the fixed overhead camera, the Legacy Style is for you. Playing with familiar controls will allow you to focus on enjoying the game more, rather than spending time getting confused by a new control scheme
Additionally, the Legacy Style has a color filter that recreates the tone and hue of the original release, giving it a distinct screen look.
New players who would like to experience the classic Metal Gear Solid 3 feel can also choose this style.
