To perform a quick reload for your equipped weapon, swiftly double-tap the Weapon Window button. This briefly unequips then re-equips your weapon, reloading it immediately.
Quick reloads are especially important when using weapons like the RPG-7 or M37 shotgun, particularly during boss encounters. Develop the habit of performing swift reloads after every few shots to ensure Snake is never caught in a lengthy reload animation during critical combat.

You can manually reload your weapon by tapping the reload button. For some weapons, this triggers a slow, reloading animation that can leave Snake exposed. For this reason, it’s generally less efficient than performing a quick reload.
The main benefit is that manual reloading gives you one extra bullet. This bonus only applies to weapons with magazines. However, it does not apply to non-magazine firearms like the RPG-7 or Single Action Army revolver.
Snake will automatically reload his weapon when the current magazine is empty. Reloading from an empty magazine plays the same lengthy animation as a manual reload, but unlike manual reloads, it does not grant the bonus of an extra bullet. Relying solely on this can put you at a severe disadvantage in intense firefights.
