MGS - Can You Repair Suppressors

Suppressors are an essential tool in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater (MGS3 Remake) to take down enemies silently. In this article, we will explain more on the durability of the suppressor after extended use.

Can You Repair Suppressors?

Suppressors Cannot Be Repaired

Once a Suppressor wears out, it is permanently gone and cannot be restored. The only way to silence your weapon again is to find more suppressors.

Tip: Since boss fights pose no danger of triggering Alerts, make sure to unequip your suppressor before each boss to save your supply.

Firing Reduces Suppressor Durability

MGS - Suppressor Bar
Suppressors will have their own "health" indicated by the bar above your weapon icon. Firing reduces the number of segments this bar has and, when it's fully depleted, your suppressor will break.

When a suppressor breaks, it plays an audible break sound and shows a visual cue. You'll have to re-equip a suppressor in order to keep firing silenced shots.

How To Get More Suppressors

Find Them as Loot

Suppressors can be found in supply drops, weapon caches or hidden areas scattered across the map. Exploring thoroughly increases the chances of securing extra suppressors, ensuring you always have a supply for stealth situations.

Take Them from Soldiers

By knocking out or eliminating enemy soldier, you get a chance to loot their bodies. Some of them may carry suppressors that can be attached to your weapons. It's worth it to use non-lethal takedowns since enemies drop more loot when knocked out instead of killed.
