Fox Hunt has been confirmed to release on October 30, 2025. You'll need to update your game to the latest patch in order to play this Multiplayer mode when it launches.

Fox Hunt Will Not Feature Cross Play

Even though MGS Delta is available across several platforms, there is now official confirmation that Fox Hunt will not feature cross play.

This means that when queuing up for a game on release, you will only be able to match with and against players using the same platform as you.

According to the developers, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will have a multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt. Its core gameplay mechanics will be similar to Metal Gear Online - a standalone multiplayer title released alongside MGS4: Guns of the Patriots back in 2008.

Main Story will Not Have Multiplayer

Singleplayer

As for the main story missions, there is no confirmation that MGS Delta will have co-op multiplayer. At the time of writing, the main story of MGS Delta remains a strictly singleplayer experience.

Multiplayer Mode Similar to Metal Gear Online

Fox Hunt Multiplayer

Fox Hunt is a 12-player PvP mode where you are paired with a different player in order to compete against 5 other teams. Use tools and weapons found during a match to outwit your opponents and remain the last team standing.

During matches, you'll have access to the AT-Camo by default as well as a new ability called Snake Sense that allows you to detect nearby enemies and items at the cost of stamina.
