Carol's a versatile unit you can put into most teams if you want to buff their defense (Torn Page), and deprive the enemy of their own buffs (Scales of Oblivion). She can also cast the Silence debuff on enemies, preventing them from using what could otherwise be powerful skills.

Carol can sustain herself quite fine with her Memento passive skill. Whenever she or an ally gets attacked, the skill restores up to 7% of the HP she lost.

Give Carol ACC, Debuff ACC, HP, and CRIT RES Runes

Carol won't be dealing the main damage in your party, so she'll be fine with MAG, ATK, AC, and Debuff ACC offensive runes. However if you want her to inflict Silence as soon as possible, then you could give her spare SPD runes instead of ATK. For defensive runes, give her EVD, CRIT RES, Debuff RES, and HP runes.

Carol is versatile enough to stick in most teams, but if you want a team that can withstand damage and somehow win against more powerful opponents, she can be a good unit to pair with the likes of Florence and Soltina.

Her Scales of Oblivion skill can debuff a target's DEF by 40% if they're not buffed, which opens them up to more damage from Florence. Soltina meanwhile can soak up good amounts of damage, which can keep healing Carol.
