Story and Plot Explained
Zorah Caused the Machines to Exist
Galactic Nova heard Zorah's wish to roam and be free, causing it to manufacture and deliver the Machines to planet Popstar, the setting of Kirby Air Riders.
However, the Machines are unable to move independently. This created a symbiotic relationship between Machines and Riders, the residents of planet Popstar, where Riders allowed them to move while the Machines provided a mode of travel.
Gigantes is Zorah as a Machine
Likely due to the Galactic Nova's failure of granting Zorah's wish to roam via the Air Ride Machines, it sent worker drones to instead directly transform Zorah into a Machine.
As Zorah is a Machine, they also inherited the flaw of requiring another's will to activate. Due to its size, the power required is likely significantly higher than a normal Machine, causing it to send a signal to all the strong Riders and Machines in planet Popstar to fuel it.
It is currently unclear if Gigante's ability to destroy the planet was intentional by Galactic Nova to cause Noir Dedede to manifest, or is simply an effect of its size and power.
How to Unlock Gigantes and Best Riders

As Zorah was being reconstructed into Gigantes, their soul escaped and manifested as Noir Dedede. This granted Zorah's wish to be free, allowing them to exist as a Rider.
However, due to Gigantes' imminent threat, Noir Dedede is now on a mission to intercept all Riders heading to Gigantes who may unknowingly fuel its awakening.
Zorah Succeeds in the Normal Ending
In the normal ending, Zorah succeeds in intercepting Gigantes. Having both their mission and wish fulfilled, Noir Dedede fades away, leaving their Wheelie Bike behind.
Road Trip Mode Guide and Checklist
Galactic Nova is Destroyed in the True Ending
In the true ending, Gigantes fully awakens, prompting Noir Dedede to summon Hydra and Dragoon to destroy Gigantes. This created a path towards Galactic Nova, the secret boss of Road Trip mode.
The players will then destroy the heart of Galactic Nova with the help of Leo, and Zorah regains their original form afterwards.
Leo's origin is currently unknown. The similarity in blue flames present on both Leo and Noir Dedede is likely a hint at its identity.
