Local Multiplayer Guide and Online Play Checklist

Kirby Air Riders Local Multiplayer
Local Multiplayer Modes
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Air Ride | Classic game mode where you will attempt to finish the race course faster than the other players. |
| Top Ride | A game mode similar to Air Ride but the race course is viewed from the top instead. |
| City Trial | Solo or team game mode where players will collect power-ups and battle in Stadiums. |
All game modes listed above can be played in Local or Online Multiplayer, with more than one player or against bots or CPUs.
Connect Different Controllers to Switch 2 to Register Local Multiplayer
Multiple people can play with one Switch 2 console as long as they each have their own controller or Joy-Con. When you first open the game, it will ask you to activate the controllers you wish to use.
Join After Starting A Race
Note that you still have to join again when starting a race by pressing your controller's X button, or the right-side arrow button for the left-hand Joy-Con.
Kirby Air Riders Online Multiplayer
Connect with Other Switch Accounts
Similar to Local Multiplayer, you can play Air Ride, Top Ride, or City Trial with other players in Online Multiplayer. In this case, the other players must have their own accounts to play together.
Personalize Your License
A License is essentially your profile and will be the main way for other players to check your name, Global Win Power, and respective Class Rank. The license is automatically made and can be viewed in the Connect tab of the Main Menu.
You can decorate your License by changing its theme, adding stickers, and creating a street name.
Hang Out in the Paddock
The Paddock is an online lobby where players can move around as their chosen rider. Here, you can see other players and even set up race sessions with them!
Join a Paddock Session
You can join race sessions within the Paddock. Several sessions can be held at once within a Paddock and you can use the terminal in the Paddock to search through the ongoing sessions.
Access the Machine Market
Using in-game currency, you can buy the Machine designs of other players in the Machine Market, allowing you to use their design for your Machine. A design's price will increase the more people buy it.
You can also list your own designs on the Machine Market. You won't lose your design while it's listed on the Machine Market and you won't earn money when it sells.
Participate in Online Events
Online events will sometimes be available for players to participate in, rewarding exclusive cosmetics such as Machine Accessories.
Players can check on the events tab on the main menu to view available events, and select the News tab for in-game announcements about current or upcoming events and their respective time slots.

How to Access Online Multiplayer
Must Have a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription
You will need an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) to join Online Matches as well as to connect with other players in the Paddock.
Do You Need Nintendo Switch Online?
Go to the Connect Menu
To access the Paddock, decorate your License, or visit the Paddock, you will need to visit the Connect menu which should be the left most folder tab in the Main Menu.
