Choose a Well-Rounded Machine

Single Race demands a balance of Top Speed, Turning, Acceleration, and Glide. A machine that is good in all of these areas will perform better on more difficult tracks than a machine that only excels at speed.

Brake Your Turns for a Speed Burst

Your brake is also your boost charger. On every corner, hold the brake to tighten your turn and simultaneously build up energy for a speed boost. Once you are facing the exit of the turn, release the brake to rocket forward.

Learn the Tracks and Use Shortcuts

Every course is filled with hidden paths, ramps, and shortcuts that can shave precious seconds off your lap time. Learn the layout of each track to discover these alternate routes. Knowing where to glide over a gap or which path is faster will give you an advantage over racers who stick to the main road.

By inhaling enemies, you can gain powerful Copy Abilities like Sword, Fire, or Wheel. Use offensive abilities to attack rivals on straightaways or clear a path through tight corners. Additionally, you can inhale another racer directly to slow them down and spit them out as a star, disrupting their momentum and giving you a chance to pull ahead.
