Restart the Stage
When pausing mid-stage, a "Start Over" option will be available. Choosing this option will restart your progress in the current stage but you'll get to keep your current level and stats.
Choose Your Lowest Stat in Rest Areas
Each Rest Area is a guaranteed Stat Upgrade. Make sure to choose the stat that is lacking behind the others so it won't take long for you to reach 27 on all stats.
Pass Through the Cannon
There will occasionally be a Cannon option when choosing your next challenge. Taking the Cannon will bring you back to your previous challenge, essentially increasing the amount of challenges you can do within a stage.
Get Hit by the Bomb
The Bomb option when choosing your next challenge will damage you but will also grant you two stat upgrades at once, so it is still recommended to choose this option when possible.
Purchase Stat Upgrades in the Shop
The most common way to get Stat Upgrades other than clearing challenges is to purchase them from the Shop. Skills can also be purchased for a low price, potentially making your next challenge a bit easier to clear.
Prioritize Challenges With a Dark Aura
Challenges will sometimes have a dark aura around them, similar to the intruder you'll encounter in the later stages. These challenges are harder but will grant you two stat upgrades at once, so it's recommended to go for them.
