Kirby Air Riders introduces plenty of playable characters, machines, courses, collectibles, and bonus content that can be unlocked through gathering achievements or Checklist missions, completing story mode or Road Trip, and by purchasing in the Miles Shop.

Characters in specific game modes and their Alternate Skins can be unlocked by playing the game and completing Checklist Missions. Some of these missions are tied to the story in Road Trip.

Some machines are locked behind Checklist Missions and the story in Road Trip as well. Duplicate machines can be decorated in My Machine.
You can also buy machines directly from the Miles Shop, which uses Miles for currency.

Several courses are unlocked by default, while ten more courses can be unlocked through completing Checklist Missions.

Players can open the Checklist from the Main Menu or most other menus to see lists of achievements. Once you unlock an achievement, the ones surrounding it will give hints on how to complete them!

When playing Online, you can get a gummy for every rival you beat. Playing solo can also net you one or two gummies depending on the outcome of the game. The gummies can come in the shape of different Machines.
There is no known limit to how many gummies you can collect.

The Secret Boss is locked behind the New Game Plus version of Road Trip. You will need to complete Road Trip at least once, on any difficulty, to unlock New Game Plus.

Various cosmetics can also be collected in Kirby Air Riders, mainly through the Checklist and the Miles Shop. These collectibles include Machine parts, Rider Headwear, License decoration, and Sounds such as music tracks or sound effects.
Note that these cosmetics are purely for decoration and do not affect any stats.
