Galactic Nova is the secret boss of Road Trip mode in Kirby Air Riders. See how to beat Galactic Nova, how to unlock them, their checklist, and learn who they are here!
To defeat Galactic Nova, you'll have to battle it out against it in two phases. You can complete the first phase by destroying all the floating discs around the heart of the boss by jumping and head-butting towards it. Beware of the lasers fired by the boss as they deal a huge amount of damage!
Once all the discs have been eradicated, you will immediately enter Phase 2. This phase's main objective is for you to hit the giant heart at the center of the arena.
Charge and jump towards the heart to deal damage, but be careful of crevices and holes on the circular platform around it, as falling even in a single one will auto-KO your character!
During the second phase, not only will the boss fire lasers at you, but it will also deploy a defensive barrier around it that looks like a glowing aura encapsulating it. Charging while the barrier is up knocks your character back, rendering it vulnerable to the boss's barrage of attacks!
Do not attack the boss while the barrier is present, and instead focus on dodging its attacks, which should be more frequent than when it doesn't have its barrier!

To unlock Galactic Nova, the most important thing to do is to start a New Game+ run, which allows you to complete all the remaining requirements to unlock the secret boss. You can unlock the NG+ mode by completing Road Trip once on any difficulty!

Another requirement to unlock Galactic Nova is to collect all the Machines you encounter during Road Trip. You can efficiently unlock all the machines you haven't added to your collection as you go thru the second playthrough of Road Trip where all the uncollected machines in different subareas will be highlighted by a Star marker!

Since Galactic Nova appears on Stage 12 or Journey's End, you'll first have to defeat the final boss found on Stage 11 of Road Trip! Provided you've completed all the unlock requirements mentioned here, you should automatically unlock Stage 12 after defeating this boss!
Journey's End Secret Stage 12 Guide
Galactic Nova is the origin of the Air Ride Machines, who were created to grant Zorah's wish to be mobile. These Machines were scattered throughout the planet Popstar, granting its residents a means of transportation.
