Air Ride is the classic racing game mode where players choose a course, choose their Rider and Machine combos, and race to see who completes the course first! Copy hats, abilities, enemies and obstacles may be present along the course.

In Time Attack, players can do solo Air Ride races that record your best time over a set number of laps. Time Attack is good for recording personal best times, and practicing on a course before playing against others!

Top Ride is similar to Air Ride game mode, with the exception of having a bird's eye view of the race track and the option between Steer Control and Free Control.

In City Trial, players collect power-ups and go through random events in the various regions of Skyah within a time limit. Afterwards, players will compete in one of four randomly selected Stadiums using the power-ups and machine they obtained!

Stadiums are mainly played as part of the City Trial gameplay, with each stadium having its own unique traits and objectives. You can choose which stadiums appear in City Trial through the game's settings. Stadiums can also be played by themselves.

Both Air Ride and City Trial have Free Run modes that are separate from their main gameplay. in Air Ride Free Run, players can record their best time in a single lap for an Air Ride course, with no enemies or abilities.
In City Trial Free Run, you will be free to explore Skyah's terrain without a time limit or other players.

Road Trip is the story-like mode in Kirby Air Riders, where you will encounter different characters and scenarios while progressing stages.

Road Trip is the story mode of Kirby Air Riders, and the biggest difference from the previous Kirby Air Ride game. Road Trip makes it relatively easy to unlock machines, and there are also legendary machines and characters that can only be unlocked in Road Trip.
Road Trip mode does not need multiplayer, letting you play at your own pace. This game mode also contains parts of the Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial modes, which will let you test them out as well.
