Select the Character After Choosing A Game Mode
You can change your character and machine after starting a game mode. Select the Character image to swap characters.
In Air Ride and Top Ride, you choose a stage course first before being given the choice to choose your character and machine.

Choose Character After Choosing the Difficulty in Road Trip
In Road Trip, you must select the difficulty first before you can choose your character and machine. Note that you cannot change your character in the middle of a Road Trip run.
Select '?' to Choose A Random Character
When selecting a character, choosing the blank icon with a question mark will let the game choose a random character for you. You can also do the same thing with the machine!
How to Change Characters in the Paddock
Change Character and Machine Through the Menu
When inside the Paddock, you can change characters by opening the menu or using the minus (-) button on your controller.
Character and Machine Cannot Be Changed After Joining A Race
If you join a race while in the Paddock, you will automatically enter with the character and machine you last selected. Be sure to choose your characters before joining a race invitation in the Paddock.
