This quest will become available after you finish the Into the Frozen Wilds quest. Go to Keener's Rock, north of Song's Edge, and talk to White Teeth Chieftain to start it.
Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Talk to White Teeth Chieftain Look for White Teeth Chieftain in Keener's Rock and talk to him. He will tell you then about the test of endurance. Start looking for missing hunters. |
2 | Find the Survivors Go west from Keener's Rock where you met the White Teeth Chieftain and look for survivors. You will see a Banuk girl fighting off machines. |
3 | Kill the Machines Help Ikrie with the Redeye Watchers and Daemonic Lancehorns and kill them. After clearing the first wave of machines, a cutscene will play followed by a second wave. |
Defeat the Daemonic Scrappers and Glinthawks. Daemonic Scrappers and Daemonic Glinthawks will try to get the spoils of battle from the machines you and Ikrie killed. Defeat them and talk to Ikrie. |
|
4 | Find Mailen Follow the marker and go up the mountains to get to the injured Mailen. You will see machines surrounding her once you reach the top. |
Kill the Machines There will be three waves of machines you will encounter on this part. The first wave will be Daemonic Longlegs, the second will be Daemonic Scrappers, and the last wave will be a Scorcher. Talk to Mailen to progress after clearing all three waves. |
|
5 | Return to White Teeth Chieftain Go back to Keener's Rock and talk to the White Teeth Chieftain. That will be the end of the quest, and you will get your rewards. |
You will encounter a huge number of machines on this quest. Get and craft what you can between quest objectives to prepare for the battles ahead.
The most effective way to kill the Glinthawks is to shoot them with Fire Arrows and use a Ropecaster to tie them down. Both methods will ground them, giving you a chance to do a Critical Hit.
Target the Scrappers components to deal increased damage on them. The Radar and Power Cells on their back, as well as their Heads, are their weak spots. Shooting the Power Cell on their back with a Shock Arrow will cause a shock explosion that will paralyze and damage them.
You can also knock them off with a single heavy attack, as long as you have the Knock Down skill active. You can then deal more damage on them by using Critical Hit once they are down.
Disable the Scorcher’s mine attack by taking out the Mine Launcher on the Scorcher’s back, then use it against the Scorcher. You can also remove the thin armor on its Blaze Canisters and make them explode using Fire Arrows. Use Tearblaster or Tearblast Arrows to remove them faster.
Aim for the Daemonic Lancehorns' Freeze Canister on their back using Freeze Arrows to cause a freezing explosion. It will inflict huge damage on them and put them in a Freezing State, in which they will receive more damage from any attack.
Shoot the Daemonic Longlegs' Power Cell with a Shock Arrow to cause a shock explosion that will damage and stun them. You can deal a Critical Hit on them once they are stunned and deal increased damage. You can also destroy the Concussion Sac on their chests and deal Tear damage in a small area.
