Description | Aloy travels north to the Banuk lands known as The Cut. |
Rhavid | On the Road Leading to Meridian. |
---|---|
Ohtur | Inside the Daytower Fort. |
Yariki | At the Entrance of The Cut. |
This quest is immediately available after the main quest, A Seeker at the Gates. Players will need to accept the quest from any of the 3 quest givers scattered throughout the map.
Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Head to the Entrance of the Cut. The entrance of the Cut can be found just above The Grave-Hoard. Follow the Banuk paintings that mark the ladder up into this new area of the map. |
2 | Explore the Cut. Make your way up the narrow valley. Your destination is a Banuk village called Song's Edge. |
3 | Fight the Scorcher (Optional). A damaged Scorcher, one of the new DLC machines, will patrol the river leading up to your objective. You have the option to fight or run away from it. |
4 | Investigate the Source of the Smoke. Keep making your way up into the frozen wilds. Eventually, you will reach Song's Edge and uncover the source of the smoke (via cutscene). |
If you find yourself having a hard time with the Scorcher, try Freezing it using Frost ammunition. This allows you to limit its movement while also leaving it vulnerable to Hardpoint Arrows.
However, do note that you will need Freeze Modifications on your chosen weapon if you want to freeze the Scorcher, quickly. Due to its high level, unmodified weapons tend to barely leave a scratch.
Scorchers have Power Generators on their backs (above their hind legs) that you can destroy using Hardpoint Arrows. Once it explodes, the Scorcher will be stunned for a short duration.
There are no shortcuts to this fight. Since the Scorcher is already damaged once it attacks you, no Mine Launcher will be present for you to tear off and use.
