Resources are the most abundant type of item in the game. These items are generally used for crafting other items, selling for metal shards, or trading with merchants in exchange for other items or equipment.

List of Potions

Health Potions

There are only three types of health potions in the game, but they are very important to keep on you, especially before a difficult quest. Health potions require meat harvested from animals to craft, so they are quite scarce unless you buy them off a merchant. Note that your medicine pouch should be considered your main source of healing, with potions being an emergency heal.

Item	Description
Health Potion	Restores 150 Health. A brew made from animal extract, restoring and healing when consumed.
Health Boost Potion	Health Boost by 150. A brew made from animal extract. May be used to restore and heal, or boost health beyond full for a short period of time.
Full Health Potion	Restores full Health. A powerful brew made from animal extract, fully restoring and healing when consumed

Resist Potions

Resist potions help to reduce specific types of elemental damage, making them very useful against machines that use elemental attacks like Glinthawks or Snapmaws.

Item	Description
Resist Fire Potion	75% Fire damage resistance for 90 seconds. Made from the extract of the Fire Kiln Root, this liquid can protect against the effects of Fire for a short time.
Resist Shock Potion	75% Shock damage resistance for 90 seconds. Made from the extract of the Shock Wax Root, this liquid can protect against the effects of Shock for a short time.
Resist Freeze Potion	75% Freeze damage resistance for 90 seconds. Made from the extract of the Freeze Rime Root, this liquid can protect against the effects of Freeze for a short time.
Antidote	100% Corruption resistance for 60 seconds. Made from the extract of the Corruption Glaze Root, this liquid can protect against the effects of Corruption for a short time.

Traps

There are three types of trap items (not including Tripcaster ammo) that can be crafted in Horizon Zero Dawn. These items are useful for quick bursts of damage, or to stun enemies to get in a quick critical hit.

Item	Description
Shock Trap	When placed on the ground, this trap is triggered by proximity. It does no damage, but sends out a Shock blast which stuns enemies caught in its radius for a period of time.
Detonating Blast Trap	When place on the ground, this trap will be triggered by taking damage. It explodes when triggered, damaging anything caught in its blast radius.
Blast Trap	A trap filled with Blaze. When placed on the ground, it is triggered by proximity, damaging anything caught in its blast radius.

Ammo

Aside from the spear, all of Aloy's weapons require certain ammo types. Each weapon has a maximum of 3 different ammo types, so be sure you have enough ammo crafted before you plan on using a particular weapon in battle. Note you can pause to craft more ammo at any time.

Item	Description
Tearblast Arrow	Deals no damage, but very high tear shortly after impact. A powerful compressed air blast, useful for stripping armor and components from machines.
Hunter Arrow	Deals low impact damage and low tear on impact. A standard arrow type, useful in a variety of combat situations.
Fire Arrow	Deals low Fire damage over time and medium Fire severity on impact. Useful against machines with Blaze canisters or Fire vulnerability.
Hardpoint Arrow	Deals medium impact damage and high tear on impact. Useful for fighting chunkier enemies, as it more easily removes parts from machines to deal additional damage.
Precision Arrow	Deals high impact damage and medium tear on impact. Highly damaging arrow, useful for landing precise and accurate shots.
Harvest Arrow	Deals low damage, but removes machine parts with high precision. Removed parts that provide resources will contain additional resources.
Shock Arrow	Deals low Shock damage and medium Shock severity on impact. Useful against machines with Shock canisters or Shock vulnerabilty
Freeze Arrow	Deals low Freeze damage and medium Freeze severity on impact. Useful against machines with Freeze canisters or Freeze vulnerabilty
Corruption Arrow	Deals no damage and high Corruption severity on impact. Machines corrupted by this arrow will be incited to fight other machiens while the effect lasts.
Freeze Bomb	Deals medium Freeze damage and high Freeze severity on impact.
Shock Bomb	Deals medium Shock damage and high Shock severity on impact.
Fire Bomb	Deals medium Fire damage and high Fire severity on impact.
Metal Bolts	Fires in 5-bolt bursts, each bolt dealing low impact damage and low tear on impact.
Shock Bolts	Fires in 5-bolt bursts, each bolt dealing low Shock damage and low Shock severity on impact.
Freeze Bolts	Fires in 5-bolt bursts, each bolt dealing low Freeze damage and low Freeze severity on impact.
Tie Rope Light	Ties machines down for 90 seconds. Use to temporarily remove machines from the fight or for easier targeting of machine parts.
Tie Rope Medium	Ties machines down for 90 seconds. These strong ropes tie-down machines with fewer shots.
Tie Rope Heavy	Ties machines down for 90 seconds. These very strong ropes tie-down machines with the least shots.
Tearblast Charge	Deals very high tear severity on impact. Releases a compressed air blast.
Shock Wire	Deals no damage and very high shock severity. Detonates on proximity.
Blast Wire	Deals very high damage and detonates on proximity.
Fire Wire	Deals very high Fire severity and low Fire damage over time after detonation. It detonates on proximity.
Blast Bomb	Deals high explosive damage on impact. An area of effect explosive bomb.
Sticky Bomb	Deals very high explosive damage and detonates after 5 seconds. This bomb can stick to objects and even enemies unnoticed.
Proximity Bomb	Deals medium explosive damage and detonates on proximity. Fire these bombs at the ground before luring enemies to them,
Icethrower	Fires a close-range freezing attack that deals no damage but has high Freeze severity.
Ice Cannon	Fires a powerful single shot dealing extreme standard damage and low Freze severity on impact.
Storm Bolts	Builds charge on consecutive bolts, increasing the damage with each shot.
Flamethrower	Close-range attack that deals medium Fire damage and high Fire severity on impact.
Fire Burster	Area of effect attack that deals high Explosive damage and medium Fire severity on impact.

Special Items

Special Items are Collectables and Quest-related items that cannot be bought nor sold.
