Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Talk to Hakurt Go west from the Free Heap settlement and you will see Hakurt lying near by the river. Talk to him and start the quest. |
2 | Head to Pitchcliff and Kill the Glinthawks Head to northwest part of the map to get to Pitchcliff. Defeat all the Glinthawks in the area. |
3 | Talk to Ralert Go inside the settlement and talk to Ralert. He will tell you about the attack. Take on the task of investigating what caused it. |
4 | Investigate Pitchcliff Use your Focus and target it behind the building where you talked to Ralert. Talk to the person fiddling with the strange device and destroy it. |
6 | Go to the Workshop Head to the mountains and get to the workshop to see if there any more similar devices that can cause Machines to attack. |
7 | Kill the Stormbird Kill the Stormbird first before disabling the devices on the ground. Make sure you have prepared extra ammo, heal, and potions to have a winning chance at it. |
Disable the Devices Use your Focus to locate where the devices are. Disable all three of them and proceed with the quest. |
|
Investigate the Workshop Use your Focus again and examine the notebook on top of the table. Take the notes back to Pitchcliff. |
|
8 | Return to Ralert Report back ot Ralert to finish the quest. You will get your rewards after that. |
Fire Arrows and Freeze Arrows are effective against the Glinthawks and Stormbird. You can freeze them up by hitting the Freeze Sac of the Glinthawks and the Freeze Canister of the Stormbird using Freeze Arrows. And you can also use the Fire Arrows to bring them down to the ground by burning them. You can hit the Blaze Canister of the Stormbird to cause it to have the burning debuff faster.
One of the most efficient ways to bring the flying machines to the ground is to use a Ropecaster. A single rope from a stronger Ropecaster is enough to pull a Glinthawk down, but it will take a couple more to bring a Stormbird to the ground. You can deal a Critical Hit on them once they are down, helping you kill them faster.
The Stormbird is one of the strongest Machines in the game, and there's no surefire way to kill it instantly. You will have to dodge most of its attacks, equip armor with shock resistance, target its weaknesses, and stock up on potions and heals to beat it.
You can start by taking out one of its Blaze Canister on the back using Fire Arrows, since it is harder to hit, and then shower it with melee attacks or arrows. You will have a chance to target his Blaze Canister as long as you move into its area without being seen at the start. It is a great strategy to start the battle if you don't have a Ropecaster on you.
After accumulating a bit of damage, it will start crawling on the ground and attack you with close to mid-range attacks. Don't let this chance go away and hit its Freeze Canister if it's still there with Freeze Arrow or the Lightning Gun using Precision Arrows on its chest. Repeat this part until you kill it!
