Description | Aloy seeks to understand why the killers at the Proving targeted her - and discovers that her origins are more mysterious than she ever imagined. |
Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Search for your Equipment. Search for your missing Focus and Equipment. Follow the waypoints past unlocked doors to retrieve them. |
1.5 | Retrieve the Power Cell (Optional). Before following Teersa deeper into the Mountain, make sure not to miss out on the Power Cell hidden inside one of the hidden rooms. |
2 | Follow Teersa. Follow Teersa into the mountain to meet the All-Mother. |
3 | Follow Teersa out of the Mountain. Head out of the Mountain and watch as Aloy is made into a Seeker. |
4 | Talk to Resh, the new War Chief. Head down the slope and talk to Resh. He can be found watching the valley on the settlement walls. |
5 | Kill the Corruptor and Corrupted Machines. Deal with the Corrupted Striders and the large Corruptor. Deal with the medium-sized Machines first before using Fire Arrows on the Corruptor. |
6 | Examine the Corruptor. Loot the Corruptor carcass to retrieve the Override Tool. This completes the mission and unlocks the Override ability. |
Power Cells are needed to complete the Ancient Armory questline and acquire the powerful Shield-Weaver Outfit.
This first Power Cell will be hard to retrieve after this mission, so make sure to grab it before exiting All-Mother Mountain.
1 | After exiting the room where you retrieved Aloy's equipment, go to the opposite end of the bonfire room. |
---|---|
2 | There should be a vent to your left. Crouch down and follow the vent into a secret room. |
3 | Retrieve the Power Cell on the ground. This will start the Ancient Armory questline. |
In order to prepare for the fight with the Corruptor, make sure to explore the entire area before speaking to Resh.
Plenty of Ridge-Wood, Medicinal Herbs, and Supply Crates litter the area, allowing you to start the Corruptor fight with an advantage.
Corrupted Striders will leave corrupted patches on the ground whenever they run or charge around the area. These will inflict damage should Aloy run over them.
Use a Ropecaster to quickly tie down the rampaging Striders, minimizing the damage they can deal during the fight.
Corruptors are weak to fire damage. Use your Fire Arrows to set it alight. Remember, it is not worth it to waste regular arrows trying to breach its thick armor.
Note: Pay attention to the small thermometer icon next to the Fire Indicator. This will fill up as the Corruptor takes more and more fire damage.
Once the Thermometer Icon fills up, a yellow cylinder will pop-up just above the Corruptor's eye. This is the Cooling Rod.
Shoot it to deal massive damage to the Corruptor. Due to how wild the Machine's movements are, it is recommended that players learn the Concentration Skill prior to the fight.
