This is a guide on How to Unlock Face Paints in Horizon Zero Dawn. Read on to learn how to unlock face paints, how to apply them, as well as view a full list of all the available face paints in the game.

To unlock the different Face Paints availble in Horizon Zero Dawn, players will need to complete a New Game+ playthrough on either Hard, Very Hard, or Ultra Hard difficulty.
After completing the final main quest, The Face of Extinction, Face Paints and Focus Effects will be awarded depending on your chosen difficulty setting.
Horizon Zero Dawn New Game+ Guide
Completing New Game+ on any of the mentioned difficulty settings will unlock the Face Paints for that tier and the Face Paints below it. For example, completing NG+ on Very Hard also unlocks the Hard difficulty Face Paints.
To unlock all Face Paints (as well as all the Focus Effects) in one go, players will need to complete New Game+ on Ultra Hard.
Once players have completed NG+ on Hard, Very Hard, or Ultra Hard, the associated Face Paint rewards will be available for use across all their existing saves.
Note: The rewards also apply to any New Game players will create (not just NG+). Starting a fresh save on any difficulty will still allow you to access all the existing rewards.
Face Paints can be equipped by going to the Pause Menu, selecting Settings, and navigating to the General tab.
After completing a New Game+ playthrough on Hard, Very Hard, or Ultra Hard, the option to toggle Face paint will become available.
