Horizon Zero Dawn

Best Items to Sell

Horizon Zero Dawn - Best Items to Sell
This is a guide to selling items in Horizon Zero Dawn. Read on to learn what the best items to sell are so you can improve your inventory management and earn more shards.

Best Items To Sell

Items Marked for Selling

Horizon Zero Dawn - Marked for Selling

These should always be the first items to sell if you're in need of shards or need to clear up your inventory. These items will only have Trading with Merchants and Selling for Metal Shards descriptions under their Used For sections. These are usually machine parts such as Strider Hearts and will give a decent amount of shards when sold.

Low-Tier Modifications

Horizon Zero Dawn - Sell Modifications
You'll be collecting numerous modifications in the game that upgrade your weapons and outfits. However, these can very quickly fill up your inventory.

You can sell green modifications, the lowest tier, in order to make more space for better ones, especially since these are easily found and relatively cheap. Once you start getting the highest tier of modifications, marked purple, you can even begin to start selling blue modifications that you don't see yourself using.

Extra Stacks of Common Crafting Materials

Horizon Zero Dawn - Common Resources
You generally won't need more than 5 stacks of crafting materials, specifically for Blaze, Sparker, and Chillwater resources. These can be found in almost every machine so they'll very easily fill up your inventory. Once you go over 5 stacks for them, you can freely sell them to merchants without worrying about not having enough. You can replenish this quickly due to how common they are.

Resistance Potions

Horizon Zero Dawn - Sell Potions
If you don't really use resistance potions like Resist Fire or Resist Shock, you can choose to sell these to merchants for a good amount of shards. Make sure you don't sell the crafting items used to make them, which would be roots such as Shock Wax or Fire Kiln, since these give fewer shards than the fully crafted potions.
