Description | Aloy journeys to Meridian in search of Olin, the Oseram scrounger she met the night before the Proving. Somehow the killers targeted her through Olin's Focus - a mystery she can only solve by finding him...and making him talk. |
Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Go to Meridian. The way to Meridian is long and filled with much more deadly machines. Explore and level up Aloy or opt to override Broadheads to make traveling to the city, easier. |
2 | Speak to the Carja Guard and Erend. Listen to the situation in the city before speaking to Erend. To progress and skip Erend's dialogue, simply select the option Why I'm here. |
3 | Follow Erend to Olin's Apartment. Follow Erend through the crowded streets of Meridian. After the cutscene between Erend and the public speaker, you should arrive at Olin's abode. |
4 | Investigate Olin's Aparment. Upon entering, scan the rug to your left and examine it to reveal the Hatch. Next, go upstairs and climb the ladder to the 3rd floor. Scan the nearby Ingot pile and push it down to forcibly open the large Hatch. |
5 | Investigate Olin's Aparment. Next, go upstairs and climb the ladder to the 3rd floor. Scan the nearby Ingot pile and push it down to forcibly open the large Hatch. |
6 | Enter the Secret Room. Complete your investigation by scanning Olin's Journal, Map, and the datapoint called A Message for Olin. |
7 | Talk to Erend. Confront Erend with proof of Olin's betrayal. It is during this conversation that he triggers the quest The Field of the Fallen. |
8 | Find Olin at the Excavation Site. With Olin's whereabouts identified, head to the Excavation Site due north of Meridian. You'll find Olin and the Cultists inside the site. |
9 | Kill the Corruptors and the Cultists. Deal with the 3 Cultists on the high ground first. Then, mark the paths of the Corruptor patrols and use the Log Traps to quickly destroy one or both of them instantly. Mop up the remaining Cultists, afterwards. |
10 | Talk to Olin. Speak to Olin and interrogate him about why you were targeted. Afterwards, Aloy will be given a choice to either Spare Him or Kill Him. The only difference when you spare him is that he will help you out during the Collateral Errand. |
At this point, tougher Machines will be present in the wilds leading up to Meridian and the Excavation Site. Consider purchasing a War Bow for different elemental damage options or a Blast Sling for more direct damage.
Additionally, Very Rare Outfits will now be available from the different merchants in Meridian. If you have the resources, purchase a set based on your current resistance needs.
At this point in the game, the level requirements for each Main Quest will have larger gaps than before. Consider exploring the land surrounding Meridian to learn how to beat a lot of the different Machines in the game.
Seek out sidequests to level up Aloy and gain resources and much-needed Skill Points. Remember, the way to each objective during this quest will be long. Deviate from the path to prepare yourself for future missions.
The Copper Deeps Tallneck is your next stop when looking to reveal the next portion of the map. With only a level requirement of 13, this quest should be well within your current level range.
Note: The Tallneck walks along a river guarded by Snapmaws. Use Fire Arrows to set them ablaze and make swimming to the central island, safer.
When in the Excavation Site, use the different Log Traps scattered throughout the lowest level to quickly dispatch of the Corruptors. Tag and Highlight their patrol paths and wait for the best time to strike.
Hitting one (or both) with the trap should deal massive damage and, usually, instantly kill them.
